Having trouble installing

I have a host gator server that I am trying to install my copy of ipboard on, I am trying to set it up so when people go to www.mysiteDOTcom they are redirected to where I have the forum parked www.mysiteDOTcom/Forum. When I used the reirect wizzard on the cPannel it told me that it could not do it. I have been in contact with host gator and they had no suggestions for me. I have tried installing ipboard right in the public_html directory but it was all messed up. I realy need help so if any one could be of service or point me in the right direction that would be helpfull.

are the files in correct location now (/forum) and is the forum actually installed first of all?

need a bit more info, valid url would help and also exactly what does the cpanel error say?

first remove the redirection, move al the files in the upload directory to SITE_ROOT/forum install ipb, then play with the redirect ;)
