Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
babau-yoyo Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 I'm running IPB on a single server environment is it worth the us of nginx in this kind of solutions? any hint on how should I configure it?
Gary. Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 It be usefull if your site has a lot of image content as it would be then cached. See if your website is mnot a very busy one then you will probably not see any difference, You may only notice on the server when it's been installed and getting hundreds of requests per second chucked at it. Post your community link and I will look :)
Sinner Saint Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Is there any available guide to configure Nginx for IP.Board? I am itching to try Nginx for my forum but I could not find an official guide from Invision.
Luis Manson Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 yeah, is in this same forum, there are a few different configs, check them all and read the docs http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/334975-nginx-howto-ftw/
Grumpy Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 For a much simpler setup for nginx, I'd suggest just moving apache to port 8080 or similar and have nginx reverse proxy to apache for anything not static. The setup will only take minutes (for someone who gets it). Much less likely to run into any problem this way because you ARE still running apache. Just need to add 1 line to IPB make sure that IPB gets the correct IP and not the proxy IP.
