Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted July 7, 201113 yr I see in Tracker only few bugs. It seems that development of IP.Board 3.2.0 was very well prepared for public release. Well done :) I upgraded my test board from 3.1.4 to 3.2.0 Beta 2 and it's running fine.
July 11, 201113 yr I still don't think that everything is enabled yet though. I don't think that tagging is available or things like inline notification of new replies whilst you're typing?
July 11, 201113 yr Over 900 bugs fixed in 3.2 since 3.1.4 lol. There will be more once everyone upgrades their live boards.
July 11, 201113 yr Of course there will, but they're doing a damned fine job of weeding them out in the current betas. :)
July 11, 201113 yr Indeed. Much better than others.... ;) One thing I find annoying tho is that there is old bugs that don't need fixing anymore that bloat up the amount of bugs in the tracker when I check.
July 12, 201113 yr Author Do you think it's OK for a live board? Not yet. Wait for final version. But I am testing Beta 2 on my hard-tested test board and I didn't catch any critical issues so far.
July 14, 201113 yr There seems to be still this old bug where an album disappears within the album manager in ACP but shows up at the front end. So I wouldn't be too fast in releasing the new IP.Gallery and then people starting to complain again...
July 14, 201113 yr Management 1) I just fixed this 2) You have the non flash uploader selected 3) There should be if you allow albums to be created inside (this is a per-album option)
July 14, 201113 yr People always say pre-final releases aren't good enough, but in reality I've never had "that" big of an issue happen due to RC versions sued live. I've used RCs live ever since 2.1. And now beta 3 is basically like an RC. I may use it live soon because as dead as my sites are I doubt it would be the end of the world if a bug is in it.

I would strongly advise otherwise.
July 15, 201113 yr I would strongly advise otherwise. So is that saying they're not making an upgrade path like they do make in every other instance? :P OPther than that I would be surprised if there's a bug bad enough to discourage use. I may wait anyway though as it's not like I'm in a rush. But nobody posts on my sites so even if it broke who cares. lol
July 15, 201113 yr We do not recommend running beta versions on live sites. Mark was just reiterating that here.
