One thing though, i do have a [media] tag about the guest message, is there anyway to remove this as it looks untidy?

Try to put a space between the link and the last media tag. Like this:

[media]youtube link [/media]

I have a lot of media files on my site, do you mean on the actual post or in the bbcode settings as i dont really want to edit every post on my community with the tag?

In the actual post. I will update the hook shortly so you won''t have to do that manually.

Now it is fixed. Please redownload the new package.

Also a big thanks goes to BognorRidges for finding the fix for the media tags.

Hi, it still leaves "something" from the link after the message... look for example at this: http://www.suntbridezilla.com/topic/79-alexandra-dinu-se-casatoreste-cu-andrea-rizzoli-in-2011/

Can you please the whole link here?

Seems it stops hiding a link when it finds a symbol, as in the following examples (in bold you can see what it still leaves behind after the message):

[url=" -noiembrie/alexandradinu01.jpg
[url=" -noiembrie/alexandradinu02.jpg

[url=" -noiembrie/alexandradinusimario.jpg

[url=" -fox.jpg

[url=" -cruz.jpg

Also it doesn't seem to hide the following:

here it leaves to show tinypic links: http://www.suntbride...indpost__p__133
here it leaves to show photobucket link: http://www.suntbride...indpost__p__136

Finally it doesn't hide the links at all when showing an article in Portal, but when you click on the article and it goes into the correcponding forum, then it hids it... look at my front page articles at www.suntbridezilla.com

Indeed. Anyway I fixed that bug now. It will hide the tiny pictures too. Please reuplaod the newly atatched package and let me know.

About the portal atm it doesn't support it. It is only for the forum.

Looks fine now, thanks! Any chance you might expand it's functionality to include the Portal also in the future?

You are welcome :)

I will look into it.

This hook is bad for SEO,if you hide all these things from search engines then google,yahoo will remove you're site from search and stop indexing yu're site trust me it's true because it's in there guidelines not to hide any links,and because search is treated as guest these kind of hooks will make you get remove from search engines like google...

Hiding text or links in your content can cause your site to be perceived as untrustworthy since it presents information to search engines differently than to visitors. Text (such as excessive keywords) can be hidden in several ways, including:

Using white text on a white background

Including text behind an image

Using CSS to hide text

Setting the font size to 0

Hidden links are links that are intended to be crawled by Googlebot, but are unreadable to humans because:

The link consists of hidden text (for example, the text color and background color are identical).

CSS has been used to make tiny hyperlinks, as little as one pixel high.

The link is hidden in a small character - for example, a hyphen in the middle of a paragraph.

If your site is perceived to contain hidden text and links that are deceptive in intent, your site may be removed from the Google index, and will not appear in search results pages.

When evaluating your site to see if it includes hidden text or links, look for anything that's not easily viewable by visitors of your site. Are any text or links there solely for search engines rather than visitors?

If you do find hidden text or links on your site, either remove them or, if they are relevant for your site's visitors, make them easily viewable. If your site has been removed from our search results, review our Webmaster Guidelines for more information. Once you've made your changes and are confident that your site no longer violates our guidelines.

That is not true. This type of hook is widely used in many softwares and it has never caused a problem.

Yes, I updated the hook. Before it hid all links in one fell swoop. Now you can hide each set of links seperately.

About the tapatalk problem I don't use it and therefore I will not be able to look into the issue you reported.

Can you update the version number in the updates? The latest one is still showing version 1.0.

Thanks

I didn't upload a second file. All you have to do is uninstall the previous hook file and install the new one.

this plugin is great, but it treat all users as guest when they are using tapatalk

Just for the record:
in the tapatalk directory there is a config.txt there is an option if you have this mod ;)
