Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
LaCollision Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Hi there, Sometimes, some members on my board are only here for spamming other members with private messages... which is again my forum rules. Hopefully, there is the "Alert" system, that works perfectly. However, the spamming members are using very subtil techniques to gain the confidence of their targetted members, and they often convince them with false arguments. And in this case, the targetted members don't use the "Alert" button. As a board admin, I can't and don't want to look into my regular members private messages. But I would really appreciate an automated system that fires alerts when specific keywords are used in the private messages. Do you think it is possible? Thanks a lot.

Dan (I think it's him) has a mod that extends the IPB spam shield to a forum/post and topic level.. I'll have to see if I can find it for you... it might be able to scan PMs as well.
