Make "view new content" behave as expected by users of phpBB or vB

There are multiple bug reports on issues with how VNC works, should work, shouldn't work, doesn't work, etc.

The last one has a fix posted in it. Please keep in mind that it's not a fix currently supplied by IPS but by a customer.

Since a couple of recent replies to this topic indicate that the topic as a whole isn't being read, I'll close this topic for now to prevent any further confusion.

If you believe that even without any bugs that VNC isn't meeting the needs you have in mind, then please open a new topic with your specific requests for what you want.
