CnCNet Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Would it be possible to get index.php out of URLs? The URL would be cleaner without and it doesn't provide any info to the user.
Collin S. Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Would it be possible to get index.php out of URLs? The URL would be cleaner without and it doesn't provide any info to the user. Do you mean so the URL reads " " like this one does?
PKIDelirium Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 You need to use mod_rewrite. There's instructions on how to do it in the FURL settings section of the ACP.
markopolo2002 Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 I had been wondering about this myself, but I'm thinking is there any real advantage to doing this?. Given the search engines have already got most of our URL's in place now would it be considered foolish to try and rewrite the URL in this way? Cheers Marko
Mat Barrie Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 When you enable it, IPB will automatically 301 redirect any hits from /index.php?/stuff-here to /stuff-here, so it should have no effect.
markopolo2002 Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Cool, thanks for confirming that one Mat :) Marko
