SkimPappa Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 I installed MAMP on my mac for a dev board. I installed IPB just fine but after it completed successfully when loading my board I get "Could not determine your IP address" After googling it for a while I found a french board that said to Enter the following code in the conf_global.php file$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] = '127.0.0.1'; That worked, but why is it that IPB doesn't work in this case, and can that be fixed?
Kellie Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 THANK YOU for this!!! I currently switched over to a Mac and have MAMP installed for my own personal server to develop on. I got the IP address error and found the only browser the board worked on was Google Chrome. The fix was perfect!! Thank you again! :)
Fishfish0001 Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I discovered this awehile ago. Its something about the localhost usage. If you use the DNS sites (dyndns.com) and set up something (ex site.blogdns.net:8888), and use that, it will ix those random issues.
