Axel Wers Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Based on email settings, where is my email address added as main email address for board, only me get notifications about new registrations and cases when someone is marked as spammer. But would be usefull if all my admins get the same notifications. I want that all my admins get notifications when new member was registered and someone was marked as spammer. Thanks in advance.
JRoss Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 I was actually just thinking about this the other day as I was adding another admin to my forums...
Biker.GA Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Very easy to do. Create a generic site administrative email address (admin@yourdomain.com), and use that for the notifications. In your server's cPanel screen (or whatever software your host uses), set up forwards for the site address to all the administrator's real email accounts.
Biker.GA Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Been using that method for almost 10 years now. It works very well. And when you make changes in staff, all you need to do is go into cPanel and remove/add email addresses for the forwarding. :)
Arianna Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Biker, i just don't get it. I set up an email account admin@mydomain, but how do i forward it to more than one email address?
Axel Wers Posted July 12, 2010 Author Posted July 12, 2010 OK, but there is one thing, I am not sure about this. In email settings I can forward all messages from (example) board@domain.tld to admin1@domain.tld and/or admin2@domain.tld But what about private messages notifications? They are send from board@domain.tld address too.
Biker.GA Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 You should be using your own personal email address for your account. PM notifications are sent to the email address associated with the account. Site notifications are sent to the address you specify in the AdminCP, and if you have them set up, forwarded to the other addresses as specified in cPanel.
