Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
sullywully Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I want to set my board so images using the tag are only displayed for members logged in. It needs to be so that guests ( people not logged in ) do not see the images. I have tried setting this in the BB code options in the admin, but it doesnt seem to work, if i set the IMG tag to be used only by members and in posts and topics everyone can still see the images?? I have tried and tried, what am i doing wrong? or is it a bug? Sully
Wolfie Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I have tried and tried, what am i doing wrong? or is it a bug?No it's not a bug. The bbcode options are for using the tags to post, not view. I think currently the only thing you can pretty much prevent viewing from within a post in that manner would be attachments. So this would need to be a new feature, or mad as an add-on for you.
TrixieTang Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I'm pretty sure it would be possible to change the img BBCode replacement to make it so users aren't shown images if they're in the guest group.
I am Freddy G Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I thought it was a default setting in Tools & Settings > System Settings > Members > User Profiles
Wolfie Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 [img] [/img] I forgot about those options. Sully, try that and see if it works.
sullywully Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 yes this works thanks so much for the help. The only thing is that guests still see the image URL but it's not a link or an image now Thanks again Sully
