Beta5 install error

Getting this install error of a fresh install of beta5 and the install stops there - anybody know why?

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home2/mydomain/public_html/board3.0_beta5/admin/applications/core/setup/versions/install/knownSettings.php on line 1
