dave@junomedia.co.uk Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I think there should be an option where people who have hosting with IPS can change what domain the hosting account is set up on through the client area. The reason is I hate bothering IPS every time I decide to start a new site, and need the domain to be switched. Now this has nothing to do with with support being slow, because the support has been extremely fast as I think last time I got a reply in like 10mns. But, maybe this will make things easier.

If you have a domain with them, switching domains is not that easy.. and im pretty sure they should charge you for that.

Just submit a ticket. Most hosts your main account is registered under the one domain and if you wanted multiple domains you can set up add-on or parked. But, if you want the main domain for your account you would need to open up a ticket. It's really not much hassle of changing it, depends on what software they use. (My post is not an official response, and may not be true in this case. Just gave a reply that was a common one from many hosts.) Ignore Nevo he really doesn't know what he is talking about. Just submit a ticket, you pay a monthly fee for a reason :).

The other thing is I don't get addon domains, unless I upgrade I think.
TrixieTang Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Why are you changing your domain often enough for this to be an issue? Get one you like and stay with it...
