Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted May 2, 200817 yr My board is huge, and I would really like to have the ability to archive old threads. Is this something that you're working on?
May 2, 200817 yr Well everything is technically archived as it still exists publically and on the database as long as its not deleted (and then again from the trash can if one is set up). No topics just ever "disappear" because they are old.

No topics just ever "disappear" because they are old. You lost me... I know other forums let you archive old posts, so they can't be written to anymore. Not sure if this helps reduce overhead on the server, but if it does, I'd like to see this type of feature implemented. When you have a forum that's nearly 10 years old, it can contain a ton of threads/posts. ;)
May 2, 200817 yr This feature does exist you just set up a forum for the archive posts and set that forum to be an archive forum.
