Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Jubei Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 some board system like phpbb have a feature that I think would be easily implemented into IPB. Group Moderators. the Site Admin(s) can assign regular members to moderate specific groups without needing to give them ACP access or doing it them selves.I think this is a must have for any forum system really.
atomicknight Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Err, you don't need ACP access for moderation. If you're talking about administration, phpBB doesn't let moderators do that anyway.
Jubei Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Err, you don't need ACP access for moderation. If you're talking about administration, phpBB doesn't let moderators do that anyway.phpbb allows each user group to have a moderator which allows that person to add/remove members from the given usergroup. I haven't found any such system in ipb.. I am talking about User Groups not Forum Groups.
The Clash Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Yeah, I know what you're talking about, and I found it rather useful when I was on phpBB.+1, but as an option.
Michael Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Yes, please make it an option if it is added, because I would never use this. I don't use groups in that fashion.
Jubei Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 yea... extremely useful for various different types of community sites that have sub groups and sub communities etc etc...
When Genius Prevailed Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Like others stated before +1 as an option.
Louis M. Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 It would definatly be a nice feature. I have a few members who I have given that access to via ACP restrictions. It would make it a lot easier though to add a group management feature into the ModCP.
Working4computers Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 I would actually like to see this feature :)
