Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted September 21, 200618 yr I wanted to address this with 2.1, but now that we're entering 2.2 I thought I'd mention that redirect forum icons show bright, as if there are 'new posts' shouldn't they be faded or something?It's just that when I look at a site with those forums I instantly think, new posts! And then realize it's a redirect link.
September 21, 200618 yr I'd like to agree here too. They should probably be updated with a different design and make sure they are dull.
September 21, 200618 yr Isn't that the point?If I'm not mistaken, when you have a redirect forum, you're wanting to direct your visiters to a new page.Catching their attention and having them click is desired functionality. :)$point_of_thread--;
September 21, 200618 yr IPB knows weather or not you have visited the site before... and weather you have read that forum.. So, why can't it set it as read... If you look at the link, it actually is listed as a forum.
September 21, 200618 yr That's the point.It's a link that they want you to click. Presumably, they want you to click it more than once, so why mark it as "read"?Masking the link as a forum increases clicks. :P
September 23, 200618 yr Don't mean to dwell on this but what if there was no New AND no nonew colored icon at all?What I mean is, maybe have letters in lieu of an icon. Maybe LINK or something?
