Chab Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 If you have expired yearly licenses once they new pricing starts then you will not be able to reactive them. This is only for current customers and active licenses.I have two yearly licences and all are experid. At 27 septembre i ask via support ticket:HelloCan you confirm me that when i renew my license after the new license price i have just to pay 25$ to have the new version and 6 month support ?and the answer was: Hello,Yes, that is correct :)So now what is correct please ?
Mat Barrie Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 I have two yearly licences and all are experid. At 27 septembre i ask via support ticket:and the answer was: So now what is correct please ?You would need to rebuy both yearly licenses at $149 each (or for $69.95 each if you buy before the release)You can not merely "renew" them unfortunately.
Chab Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Is this a joke or it's true  If it's true, it's a shame..
Terry - AKA Dumbledore Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Is this a joke or it's true  If it's true, it's a shame..No, its not a joke. It has been stated by Charles that current expired yearlies will not be converted over to the new license, and you have to purchase a new license. Unless they have made a change in policy and not publicly stated it yet.
Chab Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 That is correct. Just as you can with the current Perpetual License, you will be able to renew support at any time on the new Standard License. :)Please Debbie dont' say this to customer if it's not true .... and for what i see here it's no true ...No, its not a joke. It has been stated by Charles that current expired yearlies will not be converted over to the new license, and you have to purchase a new license. Unless they have made a change in policy and not publicly stated it yet.Thank's for your answer, so it's what i say before, just a chame !!
Mat Barrie Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Hi Chab.Debbie is correct, you're simply misunderstanding. What Debbie is saying is that if you hold a Perpetual or Standard (not yet available) license, you do not have to renew it once it expires. If you hold a yearly and it expires AFTER the release of 2.2, it automatically becomes a Standard license - with optional $25/6mo renewal. If you hold a yearly and it expires before the release of 2.2, then you either buy a new one, or you get nothing.
Chab Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Hello KyanarFor Debbie yes a make a quote mistake, the right quote is what i say about what the support was saying me...---So what irritates me is that i always read on this forum

Mat Barrie Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Hello KyanarFor Debbie yes a make a quote mistake, the right quote is what i say about what the support was saying me...---So what irritates me is that i always read on this forum "you can renew when you wish"You can't say this because this "hocus pocus trick" can be done more time in the future:You buy a yearly licence, and then one day ips change the price...this day you must have your licence activeto renew it in the new price structure or your licence is simply dead and before someone tell me "licence is not dead you can always run it", yes sure, but explain me the difference between a customer who has paid for it a day, and a new customer who has never paid ? Absolute nothing !!!The right thing i understand now is:"You can renew when you wish before we put a dead limit or you have to pay the full price in the same way as a new customer"And imho this is not correct :whistle:The biggest critical flaw is the fact that you are misconstruing the difference between the new licenses (including the old perpetual and lifetime) and yearly. Yearly licenses did not require renewal. Once a year, when it expired, you literally bought a new one. That is why an expired yearly license cannot be migrated, because it no longer exists! The perpetual, as well as the new licenses, all exist forever, only their support component expires. It's also important to note that in every case that the prices change, the old licenses are grandfathered in(I currently hold a lifetime license. It costed me $199 USD, but I will never, EVER, have to pay for support or upgrades, even phone support). The exception is yearlies, where they are kindly offering to give you "something for nothing" and upgrade your yearly to a new never-expiring license.
Colonel Wolfe Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 My license expires in April, signed up before the new pricing began, which was earlier this year.Since the new pricing system just began, when I renew at $25 in April at the $25 fee, will I still have the same access to support that I had before or will there be an additional fee for support?
