Custom profile fields: Registration page requirement

When you have a custom profile field that is set as required, on the registration page if someone doesn't leave it blank and submits registration this error is given at the top:

You must complete all the required sections of the form

Well, if you have a load of custom profile fields like I do (well 5) with only 1 being required then they are just going to fill in everything not knowing which one they don't have to fill in which will make it more of a hassle.

Therefore when the form is submitted the custom profile field that is required the field should be highlighted red.

Or even better, right on the form itself somehow visually mark the required fields with some sort of image or something, maybe an exclamation mark in addition to the after-form checking and highlighting.

Oh, yeah I can see that.

But would be nice to have some sort of notification as it's not directly indicated there that right is required and left isn't, so just regular users aren't going to know that -- therefore: highlight the field red on submit if a required custom field is not filled in.

I agree with Logan, needs some sort of indicator as to which fields are required and which aren't. It can be like the username, password or email entries. Theres that little pop out box that tells you if something you did in that entry was incorrect ;D.

Thank you it looks great, but shouldn't you make the cell highlight also like the others so it matches better?

Also, a few of the error messages "One of the input fields contains..." shouldn't it just say "The input field contains.." instead of one of? Since the error is above each individual field no need for it to indicate "one of".

"One of the input fields contains..." would be appropriate if the error wasn't above each field and just at the top of the page, but isn't correct above each field :P
