  1. Coolio!

And one more thing... can the default markers be changed, those being mine (Administrator - blue blob with a house) and the members (red blob)?

  2. Does it also work like a normal Google map in being able to add locations of different places (e.g. event locations)?

And if that is possible, can different markers be created to differentiate between forum member locations and event locations?

  3. I'm running 3.0.3 and will be soon upgrading to 3.1.x. Will this modification work on both versions... without any problems (as mentioned above)?

Also, is there a way to limit the zoom-ability... if that's a word because some people will get funny about the map actually showing where people live and not just pinpoint to an area. Or is that not possible?

  4. - I allow HTML in the signatures and posts, is this possible in IPB? I know phpBB does not allow it.

Via the ACP, you can allow HTML to be used in both signatures and posts.

    - What kind of mods are available?

You will find many modifications on IPB resource sites (e.g. Invisionize, Invision Modding, Invision Tweaks, etc...). If you're looking for a specific modification, by all means ask here on IPS and a member will be able to point you in the right direction.
  5. Yes I know. I went onto the vB homepage yesterday and thought I was in the wrong place so had to go back into Google and re-type vbulletin and then it clicked  I saw the screenshots and thought WOW, that is very much different and... quite similar to IPB. I did think many existing vB customers wouldn't be too happy.

And I've just been on there to see what how one particular thread was escalating and... it's gone

  6. To be honest, I think vB may look at extending that deal because of all the negative feedback they've received regarding v4. But only time will tell, which "may" be too late. It's a shame they're going about it that way and giving existing (and new) customers approx. two weeks to take advantage of this heavily discounted price.

  7. Had I realized how much it changed I would not have done the upgrade. My hope is now that the Classic Blue skin soon will appear again ;)

I am in the EXACT same position as you!

The Community Skinners are working to bring some of the famous 2.3.x skins up to 3.0.x. You can find the Community Skin Projects forum here...

    http://community.invisionpower.com/forum/430-community-skin-projects/

    But basically...

    Community Skins

We recently announced the addition of the community skins to our community project line-up. For the first release, 3 skins from IP.Board 2.3 will be released. These are IP.Board Classic Blue, IP.Board Pro, and IPSBeyond. You can view all of these on the company forums by choosing the skin selector.

We are currently awaiting the finishing touches to two of the skins, and then they will be fit for beta where you can install them on your forums. We will have more information available soon for these skins.

  8. Within the IP.Board forum section, could a dropdown box be added for members to choose the board version they're referring to because as we know, there are a lot of differences between 2.3.x. and 3.0.x and if I (and others) are trying to offer assistance to other members, I find I'm always asking what IPB version they're querying.

I would have suggested sub-forums but this can get complicated and look messy so a simple dropdown box like there is in the Tracker would be good :)

  9. Currently, these are the default IPS skins for 3.0...

    - IP.Board
    - IP.Board 3 XML
    - IP.Board Lo-Fi

More from IPS will be released in due course, but not yet.

Therefore, ANY OTHER skins are down to the responsibility of the skin author/creator as Michael has said... twice!

I don't think I recognise the first one you posted but I do recognise the second one. I'd have to dig around to see who/where that skin came from, but I assume you already know that.

    As per your other thread...

    ...Brandon also told you there...

    2) You're using a custom skin, you should contact the skin author.

  10. We should have a "Forward" button for messengers

    I asked the same question...

    http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/296313-forwarding-pms-303/

Michael (who used to own Invision Modding) replied with...

You could forward PMs in IP.Board 2.3, the button was just not readily visible (it was in the menu you get when you click the members name). I'm not sure with the way personal conversations work now that the concept of 'forwarding' applies anymore. I think the closest you could do would be to invite a new participant and remove the old one. They're no longer like emails that you can reply and forward, they're now more like topics with defined participants.

That may well be the case in 3.0.x.

And for mass PMing certain groups VIA ACP

That requires a modification, which is available for both 2.3.x and 3.0.x.
  11. I wasn't sure if it was a bug, but merely an error on my part when editing the code hence putting it here.

But thanks, I've found the reported bug in the tracker...

    http://community.invisionpower.com/tracker/issue-16597-fast-reply-abnormality/

  12. I may have encountered an error, but it maybe because I have reduced width board?

When viewing posts, the Fast Reply box at the bottom of the page (when not activated) looks like this with these errors...

    %7Boption%7D

When you activate the box, it then maximises...

    %7Boption%7D

So is this a problem with the default skin with people on reduced width boards or is it to do with the code I edited to have the board reduced?
