  1. In my 4 decades IT career I have never heard of this term for a paid and active version of any software, and this term "as-is" "As is" means that the seller is selling the item in whatever state it is in at the time of purchase, and the buyer is accepting the item "with all faults," whether or not they are immediately noticeable. Moreover, your statement above "as-is" is the complete opposite of what IPS management has promised in this announcement. Invision Community 4 Announced March 2023 Removal 2025/2026 With the release of Invision Community 5, we will begin the process of stopping support for Invision Community 4. This will of course be a long process and we will still provide support and security updates for Invision Community 4 until final end of life. You are stating that IPS will no longer fix any bugs from "deprecated functionality" in version 4, even though the announcement above stating that support and security updates for Invision Community 4 will continue until the end of life. Is it not enough that we have been incredibly patient in fixing bugs that have been reported for years and months?
  2. Sorry Jim, but what version 5 has to do with fixing a bug in version 4? Both are completely different versions.
  3. Using MariaDB v11.4.4, and everything running fine.
  4. Since IPS v4 does not support PHP 8.3, you have to switch to PHP 8.1 and then try again to see whether the problem persists.
  5. Yes. It's the default IPS theme.
  6. Just go to ACP > Appearance >Themes and then press on create new green button.
  7. I edited a member's article record, and I found this bug on the listing page where it shows the listing articles: The left side shows author username and the title of the article. The right side shows the number of reviews, number of comments, last comment made by avatar along with the member's username and the time that comment was posted. Example: Article The listing articles As you see we have an article with one comment, and it was made by Max. Now whenever any staff member edits this article, The listing article comment by changed to the username of the staff who edited it. The staff member never commented anything nor left a comment and deleted it. How to reproduce: Create a new article by any member. Comment on the same article you created. Visit the listing articles page to confirm. Login as staff and edit the article. Visit the listing articles page again to confirm that "Comment by" has changed to the staff username who edited it instead of the last member who really left a comment.
  8. Have you tried to reupload the same file by itself?
  9. I would pick Alma 9 or CentOS 9 Steam.
  10. IPS staff team won't be able to help you with that, and you will need to do exactly what the red notice says. Contact your hosting to adjust your PHP session configuration in order to finish the upgrade unless you have unmanaged VPS. The issue is the PHP session path is not writable, and only your hosting can be able to fix it for you.
  11. @Marc Stridgen I understand that this the only option to do so, but as most of platforms such as Facebook, Google, and Microsoft you don't use contact us to restore your account email address. Moreover, consider how much time the staff members who are monitoring and confirming claims made by users that they are the owner of the account would save when you have an automated system in place to do so.
  12. Despite I've addressed one in my first post, I'll go over the other possibilities. Add a phone number as a recovery. Add recovery email address. Add security questions / answers. This is why I said in many situations this method is more involved and requires more time. You may be correct, however on the majority of forums these days, IPS prohibits inactive clients from starting new threads or leaving comments.
  13. @Randy Calvert Yes, exactly. However, I usually check that email to see who has submitted anything using the "contact us" link. For members who have forgotten their email address, I also provide an alternative way that involves making a new account and sending a private message to a staff member so they can verify their claim. However, this method is more involved and requires more time. Nevertheless, to make things go more quickly and smoothly, an automated system is required.
  14. I have noticed that the IPS system is missing very important information and option whenever you set the Standard login "Authentication Type" to "Email Address" only. There's no option in case a member forgot his email address, and this is very import point especially IPS will be removing Display name login in v5. But still this option is needed in v4 whenever the community set to email address only to login. Perhaps force members to add security questions / answers in order to view their email address.
  15. @InvisionHQ I left some suggestions and a bug with search engine "Elasticsearch (Advanced)", but you've never responded back. Now, there's no option to restore purchases on your website https://bbcode.it/.
  16. Then, I'm certain now that this is the cause of the problem.
  17. @DzUser have you disabled all third-party plugins and apps before the update? You are coming from PHP 7 and not all of them are compatible with PHP 8 and they will give the same error, so you've to disable all of them. If you successfully accessed your site, do NOT enable them back. Check first if they have a new update and then update them, and after the update, you can enable them one by one and check again if you are running into the same issue.
  18. I knew it. I was going to edit to my post and add "unless you guys have it done already" Great work mate. I will wait for more exciting news about V5.
  19. Sadly, IPS management does not allow inactive clients to reply on most of the forums on this community, and they don't see any value to people who have been with them decades. Now days they see only the green color of the $. @Ehren the new theme editor looks really really great. Thank you for the great work you've been doing to take IPS theme to a next level. I do have a few suggestions that would make it easier on all IPS users and communities. It would nice if we could give members access to have their own style not everything of course and add that under Account Settings. For examples, "Look and Feel" or "User Interface" Under this setting we will have Default color scheme. Many members would like to have their theme looks Light or Dark all the time whenever they are signing from any device. Easier especially if you set your browser to delete cookies automatically every day. Layouts Pages Layout Forum Index Topic List Topic View It just will be nice to give members some options on how they want to see the community.
  20. @teraßyte it's never too late mate. 🙂
  21. Free and paid depends on what you want to do.
  22. Just reminding you about this. 😶‍🌫️
  23. Leaderboard showing all Pages database "Comments and Reviews" on all options "All time, Year, Month, Week, Today, and Custom" despite they are disabled on any database or enabled.
  24. Then, we are in very excellent hands in this situation. We are really fortunate to have him on board since he truly is one of the greatest. 🙂
  25. I hope you guys also have found a solution to the light/dark themes issue on copying and pasting. Dark Theme = Already done. Light Theme = Already done. In many cases, it's much worse because the text is unreadable. The problem has already been brought up, but as usual, none of you have made any comments.
