I haven't read through this no, it is insightful but the actual application of it is still yet to be seen; on paper and concept it can work but I would want to see it live. I could see in online coaching, support product forums and maybe a few gaming communities but a proof of concept would really help as a selling point compared to the defunct chat module. Again, I think IM and most of the "wants" here though is better fulfilled in 3rd party solutions than by Invision itself. I personally wouldn't hold you guys on the hook for this and look forward to other ways people can connect to the site.

I can align with this statement and sentiment. I cannot afford the live topics and have yet to really see it live in the same way that a live chat would but I also see the use case from site to site differ and niche communities find value in live chats. Of course with v5 my understanding is that one can be added as a custom block/application anyway so the feedback is really a call to action for a developer to meet this demand. Why I am responding at all to the thread though is if you Matt can share who the audience is for Invision and maybe if you personally know a few sites we can see live topics actively being used. I don't even really see them here but I know the use-case may not be befitting to this forum.

This might be a little bit off topic but when it comes to a login handler needing to be rewritten is the original code already available? What would be the steps to begin preparing for that kind of revision.

Hey Invision, I am thinking of restarting an older self hosting license I have but I want to pay for it with a different payment method than the cloud hosted license I keep. Is this an option? So far I only know that if I save my payment details it will auto-charge those details.

I see, I guess to rephrase my question is if the master-slave relationship is still viable when one community is self-hosted and the other is cloud-hosted with Invision. Also between RSS feeds and REST API Integrations are there any other touchpoints that can be made between the two communities.

I am currently looking at building connections between two communities but do not know where to start for this project. Both are niche sub-cultures in the same hobby and look to bolster the other in focused topics primarily as a information sharing knowledge base. Essentially one site is a "Wikipedia " and supported forum whereas another is a product focused community. One site needs to have data available on the other, how can I go about automating this? Does anyone have any examples? If I want users that sign up to one community to be able to access the other, I know this is possible but given one is self-hosted and another is cloud would that make any difference in the process? Should I have them first sign up to the classic community and have a shared database connected to the cloud community? I have many questions here, if you read this and it doesn't make any sense however I may not be able to clarify it much more than this.

Hey Invision Community, This is probably rather unorthodox but I need to ask for a potential business partner in what they want to do a "cloud security assessment" of the site -- in this I am asked for a C4 Model of the site which I am hosting with Invision Cloud. Without going into the fine details is there any official high level documentation regarding this? They want to specifically know how information is kept secured. If necessary, I can be reached privately I am sure or start that conversation but I figured maybe other people are interested to know so here's the topic about it! A C4 Model has been explained to me as a model for visualising software architecture in Context, Containers, Components, and Code.

I feel like I had a conversation or read something about Databases and Wiki-style editing to be depreciated. But I cannot find anything about it, I want to believe I am wrong. So just a general question, is the Database product in Pages going to be depreciated anytime soon? (let's say within 5 years)

I have been thinking about using a email provider/service like Google which requires me to add a MX Record at the DNS level, I am kinda wondering if this interferes with how emails are sent via the systems in Invision like the contact us and so on. Does it matter?

This will probably be the interim solution, its not copyrighted data or anything like that. An older site simply has more information regarding flowers, types and species but it is harder to navigate and dated in design. The site also has traffic but no activity, no posts in the last 7 years. As I can't just join staff as the contact form goes to a email address that doesn't exist (tried and email was bounced back) the other solution was to shoot a question here to see if its do-able!

I am talking about a Pages database of a separate IPB that I do not own - but it would probably need to go through a converter, this part is true. If Website A is on older IPB 4, has no activity on the website but a trove of data around plants. Can Website B download this database on plants? convert the database and use it on their own site. In admin panel I see also that the actual 'records' would not be available only the structure? So if the above scenario was possible, the individual records of fauna would not be available but only the categories and additional fields?

Hello Invision Community, I am interested in downloading a different websites Database for its content, how would I start to do so? I understand that there may be compatibility issues too. The site I am thinking of is definitely using an older version of IPB.

I know I have seen this thread before, but I just can't find it or may have even mistaken it for the Badges thread. Rank icons must have equal dimensions, but is it best to do 50x50, 100x100, 200x200? Is there any general consensus here? For my site it might look just a little bit different but I don't think it changes much from IPB to IPB.

Hopefully to be the last, it is a crucial time for me to grow my forums competing in the space around a particular video game that is sunsetting their official forums for discord. I am actively in a bidding war trying to sell my site to new users who were unable to access the site for 6 hours, luckily its back at all and this wasn't a worse disaster. I have to ask, how was this page up and the rest of Invision was not accessible? Is there any information public from Amazon that I could look into?

Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]] Not sure what it means but it is littering the forums and showing up instead of actual posts.

While browsing and considering additional features I cannot help but think of how Invision can better service me and my site as a customer. Right now, these plans have wanted features across the board that were more siloed for individual communities before but broken down now between new tiers. This a little late to the party to complain about; but part of the suggestion following the Cloud Webinar and the December 2022 meetings/streams. For me and my smaller community its simply not yet justifiable as our forums does not generate revenue for the higher price point of $549/ month $6,588 total annually but full access to analytics in this same Business tier could be leveraged for my platform to monetize with advertising and partners. It is an extraneous risk for me to go with this Business tier, when this is the only feature that I want/need. If I considered upgrading I would be overpaying for features I'm not using. However when looking at 'Team' or 'Creator Pro' the features listed make sense but its still missing the core data science potential of the analytics. Outside of support communities and that industry are at large, at a loss with interest waning with every new and competitive social option. Even in this support space, I have already seen Discord's new forums really take on the life of a supporting community to a product. Discourse follow a different design philosophy and find success in a newer generation and the yet to be realized potential of OpenAI query projects like ChatGPT. It's a little bit scary to think Invision's space is more competitive as the market uptrends. So I want to suggest a $280/m priced 'Community' plan between the Team and Business plan that would include full analytics access, or a different kind of pay model overall where one could pick and choose which application/feature they want on their site like the self-hosted options for the core products of Invision. A pay as we scale option makes sense to me, but I simply don't have enough information to really speak on that topic. Browsing this forums and others, it does not seem like many small active, growing communities/site owners are taking advantage of the 1.75TB or 3TB media storage in both the Creator Pro and Team plans. I would opt for the same price as 'Team' but with different features, with the next tier being a combination of the two but if we switched to a modular set up it would probably better service many more communities and clients alike and really retain value in Invision as a strong product. Looking for the same. PayPal recently would require people to create an account before donatiing but I expect that to be solely because of PayPal and not over Invision. Whatever the problem is the process is not seamless.

It seems like all of my renewal terms were dropped and every 3rd party application I have installed with a license to renew needs to be rebought when they already had been under a 6 month renewal term.. this is costing me more than I would like in this same space as renewal fees are half, if not less than 25% of the initial costs. Is there any explanation or investigation going on for this?

Hello all, my website plan is the legacy Super 65 but I just now noticed it isn't even offered anymore. Where the new plans are higher in price with different options, will my community and effective plan be grandfathered and kept with the feature or will we be forced to close our account?

I was recently browsing a couple well known moderniized forums. My favorite one that I regrettably do not participate on at all is Bungie.net's https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/ I think there is some value in organizing topics like this in a mix of Reddit and FAQ forum style, is this do-able for Invision?
