As far as I can tell I have an active support and service license. Otherwise I wouldn't be allowed to log tickets with and download software from you. Wonder what a Trading Standards department would make of this if you were a British company?

From where I'm standing, the outlay I made for the Lifetime/Perpetual license was a waste of money... because I'm still paying an annual support fee, and now I'm still excluded from ongoing developments...

So, I find myself wondering why I purchased that perpetual license in the first place... and wondering why I'm still paying the annual fee... because no matter how you word it, you're forcing me to give up my Perpetual license in order to continue benefiting from IPB developments.

If there are going to be more services added, then something like $20/year (or $25/year if it must be more than $20/year) as an add-on license would seem reasonable. It could offered and available for every non Standard IP.Board license that the person has (so if they have 2 Lifetime licenses, they'd purchase 2 of the add-on licenses).

I think what needs to be done is the lifetime/perpetual license holders should not have to give up their license to get this service. They should be able to retain their license while if they wish they can pay a $25/6 month fee on TOP of their current license without having to downgrade.

The fact is license holders are being forced out of their license for a service they want and would most likely pay for if they did not have to lose their current license status. Find a way to allow someone like me who has a perpetual license to KEEP my perpetual and still pay $25/6 months and things would be fine.

Well then couldn't a new type of license be made, available only to Lifetime/Perp holders, where they pay $10/year (renewable at anytime, just like the standard IP.Board license)? That way IPS is making money (as I mentioned in my previous post) but not forcing the customer to change their license type?

However like I said, if it were worded to say "Standard IP.Board License" or something to that effect, that would be different. Also, as I'm aware that IPS is trying to boost its revenue (while also covering expenses), why not offer the service to Lifetime/Perp license holders for like $10/year? That would give the option to keep the current license but still generate additional revenue for IPS. Win-Win situation.

What about my other question? Does their Spam-Monitoring end when their status goes to inactive or does it continue?

I just believe that if someone have +Active Customer status because of an IP.Board license, then that should qualify them for this feature. After all, if a Perp license holder pays the $30 for a year of service, then they are a current customer. The Lifetime holders are always current.

Now, if you want to say that Standard license holders get it for free while their license is active and then charge (say $10/year) for Perp/Lifetime license holders to obtain the service, I could go with that. But to make an announcement that it's for those with active IP.Board licenses, then to turn around and say "active" doesn't include lifetime/perp license holders, that's just shameful. Should have just said that it's free to those with an active Standard IP.Board License.

I'm juggling my licenses around anyway and plan to make use of the added feature on the board that currently has the lifetime license (but will swap that with the other board license). Just would have been nice to have it for both boards.

Question though, once someone has the key to use the function, does it only work while their license is active, or is it only required to be active when they put the key in but remains in effect from then on?

I'm going to switch that debug bar off. People just obsess over it.

Guys, we are on a VPS with other sites. We routinely have 500+ users online. We are being spidered heavily. Expecting loads of under 1 and load times of under 500ms is unrealistic on this forum.

Just wait and see how it does on your own server. And if it's 100ms slower, don't worry about it there are worse things in the world.
