Hi there, I need a bit of direction to ask what my host needs to look at if possible please? I have the above error and clearly the site is still not loading quickly and giving timeouts to users all the time. I've spoken to the host (Ionos) but clearly they have no direction on how to fix this because its specifically talking about Invision permissions above. I can check and do whatever is required but appreciate some support. What is super strange is that these timeouts and super slow speeds have only started with the latest software update. I haven't changed anything on our site whatsoever. Many Thanks for any support. EDIT: Also had this one slightly different to the above:

I agree with that totally. My point was that the eco-system was very good to create ideas and new apps, which in turn you would hope to create sales for people like yourself. The more people that see the ideas, add to the ideas and then see the application created, you would hope it creates a sale for developers - I know thats not the case all the time. I have ideas, just don't know where to post them to get the most traction. Plus, the more people get behind a developer, usually it brings the cost down as not everyone can afford custom one-off jobs. Its not a slight on developers like you, Adriano. I've loved the thoughts and discussions with people like yourself on these places.

I've looked around for ages and unfortunately can't find one that does what you need @AlexJ. My process is that I have bookmarked about 7-8 Developers that I've used before to see whats around but its hard to keep up as its all splintered. I think because v5 is around the corner soon, I don't see many new apps, nor the discussion/bouncing of ideas on what the awesome developers could do with a simple idea or problem that many users had here over the years. There should rightly be loads of good discussion on whats possible when v5 comes out. Its just where to find it so i'll keep looking like yourself and post up if I find something 👍

I echo everyone's excited thoughts and would love to be able to test it too.

I've double and triple checked with a developer and this is definitely a loop that needs support please @Marc Stridgen @Stuart Silvester and anyone else at IPS that can support please. I've had a developer check, and I've done exactly what it states. Equally looking back it seems like others needed your support when this happened too. I know I can happily update the small number of apps I have once I login....I just need to get past this easy step that is clearly being held back for some reason! Many thanks in advance.

I did update to 8.1 PHP and updated the latest version of Invision which now caused this. If I change PHP back to 8.0 would that force me onto the admin area?

Please can anyone suggest if i've done something incorrect here? I've added screenshots to show i've done what is asked for recovery mode to work but I still get the same error. Do i need to remove a file from anywhere to get it to work instead?

Is there any help anyone can provide please? I think I can solve everything once the constant file works but its clearly being ignored or not working as expected. Have I got a Recovery Mode installed because I'd expect so? Thanks in advance all

I must be going mad.... Constants file where conf_global is but nothing is happening. Cleared browser cache, used a separate browser and even gone private too but I keep getting the same error above. I really appreciate the help @Randy Calvert...just don't know how or why something i've done once about 4-5 years and it worked, now doesn't seem to want to work. Only thing I can see differently is the recovery_mode is in green on the example and mine it is red. Makes me feel like its not picking it up for whatever reason or the code is wrong?

Well this is awkward...but a new constants.php file with just that line in it most places direct into our folders and it isn't doing anything. The file looks okay but not sure why its not as simple as it seems? Is there a specific root I need to be putting this file in so it picks up the file correctly?

Hi, first time coming into an issue where I'm at a loss how to update my theme and other plugins as i can't accessthe admin section. I get this: [[Template core/admin/system/login is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]] Any help would be hugely apprciated as i'm hoping its just an update to plugins that i need to do...i just can't force the adminCP screen to pop up. Tables, tables and more tables, couldn't agree more! Only type of 'button' that I've been asked for more regularly than anything else and a very logical, common sense fit to any website using this editor box. Other than that, its great to see all the improvements and I'm sure it'll be well received across the board 😄👏

This is how I do it @Orioni @Marc Stridgen as this equates to what you are trying to do: Basically, the best way is to just calculate the days in the years you want. Its not 100% technically correct with leap years, etc, but I can't see anyone disagreeing with this approach and its worked perfectly for us. That's some seriously good work on how you've made it far easier to customise all different types of icons. These bits usually are the visual bits that massively matter to people popping into your community and hoping they stick. Love it ❤️ As some of my past messages here have revolved around Achievements and knowing that it is a very powerful tool if you find a way to use it with your members, are we expecting to see updates to the Rules as well to allow us to create more unique ways to then use these said badges? I'm super hopeful that given its been out for a few years, with this seriously cool update above, that Achievements deserves to get a 2.0 update as the foundation layer that is live today has so much potential.

In fairness, its more of anywhere else other than America thing. Even though the teams were structured as 'Man City vs Burnley' which means the Away Team is first and the Away Team box is first, pretty much any football person would look at the fixture and think Burnley is away so put that score in the first box. I think as an interim i've found a way around it, although it then doesn't exactly suit American sports: In Translation I have basically swapped both mentions of Away Team to 'Home Team' and vice versa. This means that it will show correctly for most readers now. This also doesn't really impact American sports if you have it on result predictor only. If you select correct score, thats when it could get confusing to an American now. Like you said, home and away could easily be a red herring as its not the main issue. Its all about visually matching up Team 1 in the fixture to Column 1 boxes in my opinion.

Thanks @Stuart Silvester. I have asked him to check if anything is showing at his end to help with this situation. I think whatever happens, Idon't think its all tallying up still unfortunately because if they couldn't take it, thats now been nearly 2 months, therefore you'd expect the PayPal link to break and saying its inactive which it doesn't. I had someone cancel their subscription at PayPal some weeks ago and that one doesn't have a PayPal Subscription link so that it shows inconsistent behaviour in a few subscription plans i'm afraid. He wants to get it going again, so what can i physically do to get this one back up and running again so its taking each month like usual?

Appreciate the quick reply. If you look at the above screenshot however, the subscription expires 1st July, the last payment was 29th May therefore there is no payment been requested for June within 10 days at all. Now in theory its 2 payments behind. I know PayPal is working correctly on my account as I have one set up in case there are issues but mine takes every month without fail. I'm not sure how I can actually recoup that back. Is there anything linked to the 'Renew' system with this? For instance, do they have to physically accept a renewal? I don't recall that I had to do that but would this stop it? There has to be a reason for people just expiring and not taking payments for over a month somewhere along the line.

Thanks Stuart, however are you saying that PayPal had the issue? Because the member has not received anything from them, it literally expired without doing anything. Obviously Invision sends the request to them to tell them thats its an ongoing one and nothing else should stop it. He had a 'Reactivate' button alongside suspend and cancel on our website, however clearly he said he's not touched anything and likewise our end. I know on mine, it creates an invoice everytime a payment is coming soon on Invision and then Paypal continues to take it which then tells Invision that the invoice is paid. I'm really not sure what next steps I can do now, as his PayPal is still active but there is no call for a payment?

I'm noticing something strange but only because a member nudged me to let me know their subscription had expired. There should be an invoice automatically generated, as all our subscriptions don't have an end date. But there is no invoice been generated?? Am I missing something completely obvious or do we have a bug here?? I just need to know if I need to do something at all on a regular basis now as I'm worried that other regular ones will just stop but not because anyone has stopped them. Thanks in advance

I think you could either have the switch for Pool or even higher level in the ACP on 'Categories'. That way my category for NFL will be the way it is now and Football will be switched as we would expect it. Depends on how Americans see it I suppose. Either way, I think you could get around it by making it clear which one you are voting for on the 'Correct Score' pick screen. Maybe by using their name rather then just scores alone? This way badges can also be used on this screen when they currently aren't used at all. Example - Above you could put badges next to scores to help who they are selecting as for sports fans it isn't 100% clear for anyone living outside of America 🙂 You can see how on just giving the result, it probably doesn't matter for a switch as you use the name of the team and badge really well here. (i think on mobile the 'No Pick' on this screen is slightly overlapping border lines but I'm not too bothered about that for now). If you go against the 'switch' for home and away just note that even reviewing the scores on people's picks, they will show Away vs Home, which in reality for us Brits and the rest of the world should Home vs Away. Hope this helps explain things! 🙂
