Sorry to be a nuisance but I have solved it, I hadn't seen the Portal block option in the Customisation option in the Control Panel. Thanks for taking the time to help I promise to look harder next time.

Martin has kindly provided an updated version of mmer map that can be unistalled. If you install it then it overwrites the problem version, which can then be uninstalled. Job done 😀
