Thank you for updating this plugin.
  2. Congrats on the release and thank you for maintaining the application.

Suggestion: if the image is not found, use default image. For example, I have forum images / attachments that are broken since they were deleted. Topic thumbnail shows broken images.

A minor fix for you: when you click on the "Update Available!" message via the ACP, it redirects to your devfuse website which does NOT list the latest 2.4.8 version. It might be better to direct users to the official IPS Marketplace? Also, thanks for the latest release and ongoing support.

Suggestion: rich snippet linking displays Topic Thumbnail, not Topic Author. In the example above, the rich snippet includes the profile photo of the topic author / OP. My suggestion is to replace the profile photo with the topic thumbnail, which I think is a much more powerful and visual indicator of what's in the topic.
  6. I've been debating how to respond to this paragraph for 3 weeks, since the integration / fragmentation between IP.Board and IP.Gallery is truly a perplexing problem for me. You bring up some questions that I'd like to address, even if I can only begin to scratch the surface. For my particular community, I genuinely don't have a good reason as to why I still use image-only forums AND still offer IP.Gallery. I actually have duplicate content areas for TWO subjects in both IP.Board and IP.Gallery (yes, it drives me crazy), and it really just depends upon the uploader where he wants to be (which is why I'm a fan of seamless integration either direction to show media). Some general observations, in no particular order: In general, the forum tends to be the main 'hang out' area with more activity, so it makes sense to offer space there first. You just don't get the same feeling of 'activity' in IP.Gallery, so members are naturally more attracted to the forums. Viewing gallery images is more of a solo activity. Forums are great for progressing image topics. where new updates are posted in new replies. Galleries are great for a curated showcase. My personal difficulty with the enormity of this question - how to consume, view, and share content in a multi-app platform - is how you can change your interaction with the same content through multiple perspectives. For example, you can interact by publishing module: IP.Board -- with categories to publish about Content A, Content B IP.Gallery -- with categories to publish about Content A, Content B It's equally valid to interact by theme: Content A -- with permission to publish to IP.Board, IP.Gallery Content B -- with permission to publish to IP.Board, IP.Gallery Ultimately though, I decided a long time ago I shouldn't force my members to choose one app or the other. IP.Board and IP.Gallery both equally valid places to upload, since they can both still serve the fundamental purpose of being an image container.

Can you explain in more detail:
  8. One thing that I thought was a very powerful feature of Coppermine Photo Gallery was the concept of "virtual images," where an image would be uploaded to ONE album, but could appear in MULTIPLE albums as filtered by tags. This provides a much more powerful and dynamic framework for creating cross-over albums. The classic example is a gallery on zoos ... you can create albums for zoo locations (Wellington Zoo, Toronto Zoo, San Diego Zoo) and by zoo animals (African elephants, pygmy hippo, etc.) I like your idea though, which is to take the idea one step further for the entire suite.

Is this compatible with v4.1.6.1? I get a server connection error whenever I try to reenable this plugin!
  10. I've suggested this before myself, and it would be a helpful and visual indication of the difference in categories. I used this feature to really customize my forums, and it really helped each forum board differentiate themselves.
  11. My problems: One album with 100 images blows up the Activity Stream. You get a flood of images, even though it's a single album.* Clicking IP.Gallery image in AS opens up lightbox, even though underlying premise of AS was content discovery and not content interaction. Shouldn't it open in the IP.Gallery application? A thought regarding Images in an Album: this is the same corollary as many Posts in a Topic, and the concern of the OP. Users may not want to be notified of each individual content item, but of the content container (eg. Album or Topic) which is far more visually efficient when there are multiple related content items in the same content container.

Perhaps a stupid question, but when I upgrade: I overwrite the existing files with new files Delete old hook and add new hook??
  14. I'm in the same position as @superj707 where I have forums meant to showcase iimage, and then I have Gallery. Since the underlying purpose is the same, the it makes sense to be able to 'push' content into the Gallery. There are multiple ways to implement and they're all acceptable. In fact, the grand variety of ways to combine the two apps is what makes the integration such a fascinating and compelling feature! - you can define uploads in the forum topic to go to Gallery - you can define uploads to be pushed into a virtual album that can be viewed in Gallery as well - you can define a hybrid where you choose to upload to both Gallery and to My Attachments - you can simply Insert Album into the forum post - you can upload to My Attachments per user, which lends more to a social experience tird around users - users automatically get a Community Album by default Etc. I don't actually care how IPS implements the cross-over promotion (that's what we pay them for, so they can figure it out, right?) So long as they implement something. But right now we have nothing. Will it perhaps require expanded permissions of categories and Albums in Gallery? Perhaps. Admins of users will need to decide if they allow forum uploads (or on a broader scale, if they allow any community image). Will it also require expanded settings in forum topics or in forum boards? Probably. Theres a ton of complexity in this that I can't even begin to understand. But its in that complexity that there's the most potential for growth and entire sets of new features.
  15. There's actually a disconnect among all the content in all the apps but that's a larger discussion. Each app is a silo of information and is a problem that plagues a multi-app community. The OP brings up a powerful example of a very unique weakness in the IPS suite. Admins often have a fractured content base because images in IP.Board have no way of relating to images in IP.Gallery. It's a major, fundamental concern that I share as well. The OP shared one solution: to combine image content from forums and gallery into user content. I'm more a fan of generating a 'virtual' album in IP.Gallery where the images are linked from the forums. In any case, the cross promotion of content is one area that IPS hasn't even started to address but is a very real problem on complex multi app communities.

Without getting into the overall concerns by @Ocean West, I agree that content discovery is difficult and obscured by GC. It's why I suggested collab icons or banner, to make each collab more enticing. Some thoughts on just this point: 1. Each group resides in a category, which means that a user needs to go from the homepage > category > group before they even see any interesting content. I personally think that Category is more useful as a back-end function to administer settings, not as a front-end categorization. But I can understand how some people, with tons of groups, may want front-end Categories. 2. I was hoping that there would be a seamless interaction of nodes between IP.Apps and GC. For example, board A in IP.Board is actually administered by collab Alpha, and you can access / view / post in the same board A from both the board index as well as the collab. But then I realized there might be permissions, settings, templates, etc. which might be difficult to cross-over. (But if it could be done, that alone would be some jaw-dropping cross-node ninja kung fu right there, which I'm hoping one day ... sigh .. IPS might offer this kind of amazing functionality.)

Did that. Then went through the Forum wizard, Gallery wizard, and Pages wizard to toggle all of my options. Wizard was nice.Still no save I couldn't find the language strings in ACP Customization > Localization > Languages > English (Default). Should I still file a bug report? It's because you use an icon for all of the other tabs, whereas Tags & Prefixes tab is text only. There's actually options to define tags and stuff. Photo: Correct. Nothing changed with my front-end Menu, which is why I was lost. Usually when you add an App it shows as a new first-level tab. I think it would be appropriate, however, for you to add a link to each collab, similar to ACP IP.Pages "View Page " search icon which pulls up the page. Each collab is going to need to be edited from the front-end with text and banners, anyway.

So I decided to check out the Group Collaboration finally. Some issues (running v4.1.5.2): 1. Collab App Configuration settings not saving. Steps: ACP Groups > Categories > (Name of Group Collab) > Any app setting such as Forum Settings. I've tried to save this multiple times and everytime I come back, all of the options are unchecked. So I can't actually do anything yet in my groups, which is a bummer 2. Language Strings Steps: ACP Groups > Categories > (Name of Group Collab) > Gallery Settings or Page Settings. There are some untranslated language strings, maybe they're unique to my installation if I have third-party mods? I don't know, since some of these are like 'Can Pin Content' 3. Menu Tabs Steps: ACP Groups > Categories. When you have a third-party app such as "Advanced Tags & Prefixes," the tab doesn't appear very nicely. This is entirely aesthetic in nature but still important. Some suggestions or questions since I'm just getting settled in: 1. Suggestion: Link to Category - I know this sounds kind of stupid, but after I created a category ... I didn't know where to go on the front-end! I thought there would be a nice Menu option, but there wasn't. I even tried guessing /groups or /collab. Eventually I toggled 'show on board index' and I was able to navigate to the Collab app in a roundabout way from the forums! 2. Suggestion: Custom icon or banner for Groups. In the Groups listing under a category, I think there could be a richer representation of each group, since it's really each Group that's important and that's trying to attract new members, not the Categories. 3. Good job: Mini icons for "active member" and "you are an active member." There's a lot of rich information that you shared using that iconography. I can't actually do anything set since none of my settings are saved, but I'm excited.

It's strange because I initially upload and installed Topic Thumbnail plugin and hook on 11/28, and it was working fine. Then a couple of days later the homepage broke (which is where I added the Topic Thumbnail block. It works now. Another suggestion: Default topic thumbnail per category / forum in addition to a global thumbnail. The reason why is that I have some boards dedicated to news and discussion, another for announcements and new hire introductions, etc. and I'd like to create more distinction between those boards in the Recent Posts block.

Hello @onlyME, I wanted to let you know of a critical error from this plugin. PHP Error: [Mon Nov 30 17:02:37.012308 2015] [proxy_fcgi:error] [pid 9275:tid 139714191103744] [client 95.141.32.46:44730] AH01071: Got error 'PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method IPS\\forums\\Topic::tthumb_thumbnailURL() in /home/xxxxx/domains/xxxxx.com/public_html/system/Theme/Theme.php(692) : eval()'d code on line 1508\n' From IPS Support: it seems that the 3rd party coder just made a small mistake (tthumbnail vs thumbnailURL ) Topic::tthumb_thumbnailURL

Some thoughts and / or suggestions now that I've started to use this: Congratulations on this plugin. I love it. I wrote a nice review on the file. Smilies - Don't use emoticons / smiles for thumbnails.
  22. I believe I have the same problem. I am running IPS v4.1.3.2 with Advanced Tags & Prefixes v3.1.2 Steps to Reproduce Within the ACP, navigate to Pages > Content > My Database > Categories. I have multiple categories for the letters of the alphabet. I am attempting to add more letters, such as "H Category," "I Category," "K Category." Click on the small dropdown arrow and Copy. Receive "A configuration or server error has occurred. EX1054 Something went wrong. Please try again." See screenshot.

Congrats on the latest release of Videobox

Can you explain in more detail what steps to revert all templates & css of videobox? Do you mean the ACP support tool?
  25. Joel R replied to onlyME's post in a topic in Marketplace
Hi, is this tested to work with 4.1.3.2? I remember during the most recent couple of upgrades, IPS Support advised that I disable the Videobox since it messed up some of the templates.
