The Leader of the Day badge is not showing on profiles when they have won, even with the option "Show a badge on the profile of the day's winner?" is selected.

Is this the area you're referring to? It seems to work correctly on my install:

Yes. I believe it was fixed back in Beta 3, because it started working after upgrading from Beta 2
