Display Files From Subcategories function is not showing any files.
Esther E. 378 Posted October 14 I'm not sure this is a bug. There are no files directly in that category, are there?
Baian007 20 Posted October 15 (edited) Please check the following: https://preview.invisionalpha5.com/files/ Click on the "View All files" button to display files from all sub-categories, not just Category 1. https://preview.invisionalpha5.com/files/category/1-files/ Edited October 15 by Baian007
Esther E. 378 Posted October 15 Again, there are no files directly in that category. If anything, we should show the subcategories as a list. Baian007 1
Baian007 20 Posted October 15 This is the point: no files are in the category, and all files from sub-categories must be shown. Exactly like the test site: https://preview.invisionalpha5.com/files/category/1-files/
Esther E. 378 Posted October 15 The test site only has 1 category. I don't believe we show the files from all subcategories, that's simply not how the software works.
Adriano Faria 16,033 Posted October 15 @Baian007, this is a very old request, made in the early days of IPS4. It didn’t change on IPS5, unfortunately. I’ve made a plugin for IPS4: I’ll try to upgrade it to IPS5

Adriano Faria 16,033 Posted October 15 That’s not the same thing. VIEW ALL FILES appears because there’s only one category there. It won’t appear if you have more than one category.

Could we explore the option of either displaying the files directly from subcategories or eliminating the file count in subcategories altogether? Additionally, what is the rationale for having an empty category solely to count the number of files in subcategories without actually displaying those files? I would appreciate your insights on this approach. Thank you. Edited October 15 by Baian007

If you categorise something, they sit within that category. If you have a category without anything in it, then of course it would be an empty category.
