Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
SMen Posted Monday at 10:54 PM Posted Monday at 10:54 PM This is my DEV server that I am questioning, to test work with IC5. I have made multiple failed attempts at a straight upgrade. The last, I uninstalled every app, plugin, theme that was not IC stock before performing the upgrade. Still, after all that, I have errors in the logs calling uninstalled apps, furl problems, etc... I have yet to have anything but a white screen for the webpage, yet have unfettered access to all of the admin panel. I am happy to have support look, but last request I made was replied with "We don't support Dev installations...". So my question is whether it would be prudent to do a clean install, and whether or not I could then import the users, forums, data, etc....? I realize over decades that unnecessary junk simply piles up from old version info etc. I searched for help on import and upgrading with IC5, but did not find what I was looking for or any other helpful info t this particular situation. Does something exist that will help with this? Thanks
Marc Posted Tuesday at 09:01 AM Posted Tuesday at 09:01 AM Its worth noting first of all, you actually have 3 things here unsupported. As you mention, we dont support dev installs. But in addition, we do not yet support version 5, and dont support 3rd party items. The issue you have there is with a 3rd party item, whether or not you believe it to be uninstalled. You woudl need to contact the author of that item for assistance.
SMen Posted Tuesday at 04:40 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 04:40 PM Okay, ... Here I was expecting something simple and overlooked, like, "Delete this from the xxx table..." and the index would render and all okay. I do understand. Thanks for replying.
