Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted December 29, 20231 yr When I get a bounced email back from a member, I have to do a lot of clicking to uncheck all the email notifications they receive. Is it possible to create a new group, move them to that group, and have them receive no notifications?

December 30, 20231 yr Community Expert That mod forces user to change his e-mail, but he will receive e-mails still. The only way is: I have to do a lot of clicking to uncheck all the email notifications they receive That app is helpfull of course, but not a solution to stop sending mails to selected member. December 30, 20231 yr Community Expert At least bulk-mails shouldn’t go out to validated members. Not sure about things like topic-subscriptions, PM notifications and things like that.

January 2, 20241 yr Author Ugh, it seems that validation emails are being sent, and bounced. So, back to the original question. Is there a way to create a new group that does not receive any email communication? Or any other easy way to remove communication? In the ACP years ago, it was tabbed and you could easily pick and choose the communications and save once. Now it's a lot of scrolling to the bottom, clicking, saving, and repeating for each user.
January 2, 20241 yr Community Expert There is no way in which to set a group that doesn't get emails, and how you are changing them currently is indeed the only way

January 2, 20241 yr Community Expert Regarding bounced bulk mails, I usually just click the unsubscribe link in the returned email. This works even when logged in with my admin account and I don’t have to open the ACP at all. It might help a little.
January 14, 20241 yr there was an app called "outdate emails" from IPSbeyond, which worked really well, however, it's not compatible with PHP 8 and new versions. It blocked all email messages and asked for email change.
