Change gray background gradient on grid view

Good day,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to change the background gray gradient that is placed on every grid image placeholder. 

I've contacted IPS support and they told me that it cannot be changed with a setting, and I would need to edit my template. See attachment.

It always places a gray gradient on all grid images. 

Anyone knows how to remove the gradient from the template but unaffected by future IPS updates?
