Restore DB

Hey guys,

I want to train myself to make my own DB backups and to be  able to restore the DB of IPB myself. I am working with Iperius backup software. Does anybody have experience in that and has a few tips for me ?

I am not familiar with said program. I use mysqldumper and I find it great for both, backups and restoration. 

Have you created a test forum, either locally or on domain/url accessible? If you do, you can restore the backup of your main forum 's database at the test database and check it to make sure that the backup is fully functional for one of those just in case scenarios.
