Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Morgin Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Hey friends. This may have been asked before but I’m not finding this in search at all (although I do recall it being talked about!) Long ago when I was young and naive and using phpbb I installed my community into domain.com/forums thinking I would develop this great front end. Almost 16 years later after conversion to invision and having never actually done anything beyond the community itself, it’s time to bite the bullet, buy Pages, and take on some work I’ve wanted to do for literally a decade+. This means it’s time to migrate from /forums to root and deal with the headache that will come with that. Is anyone familiar with a recent guide or post covering doing this type of move? Anyone have any pointers on things I’m not thinking of (like updating Google search console tools, etc).
RocketStang Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Do you really need to have your forums in root to have Pages? My board is in a /forums directory also.
Morrigan Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 (edited) Yes. When it’s not in root it would be /forums/forums To clarify, this would happen for pages too. So it would be /forums/pagename Edited November 5, 2020 by Morrigan
