Custom 404 and 401 pages with redirect

We desperately need custom 404 page (as it was in 3.4.X). There was a possibility to create a page totally free and then redirect all 404 HTTP requests to the page. We had very user friendly 404 page with some images and a bit funny text. Also links to point the user where he can go now to find what he is looking for. This helped a lot not to loose the user but direct him to another site improving engaging.

You can find funny examples of 404 pages in Google, e. g. https://blog.hubspot.com/blog/tabid/6307/bid/33766/10-clever-website-error-messages-from-creative-companies.aspx

The same for 401 pages.

Another issue we have with not redirecting to 404 or 401 pages is Google AdSense policy. We are not allowed to place ads on the page with no content. Every deleted page in IPS is the page with no content and there is no way to exclude all of them from displaying ads (at least not for us having a large community with lot of deleted pages daily).

Yeah, I like this. I'm thinking perhaps an explanation of how you got there along with a search box or something.
