Question about downloads in 4.2

Hi There,

Does anyone know if we delete a file page on the front end of the site, if the actual file eventually deletes off the server side too? Ive noticed a lot of orphaned files bloating my server that no longer have file pages. Is this a batch operation that runs on routine now? I dont see the old "remove orphaned files" tool we had in earlier versions of the community software.

You mean if you delete a download file? Yes, it will delete file records and screenshots tied to that file.

Yes, and okay good to know. Maybe it just hasn't cleared these files yet. It looks like the pages are just soft deleted until March and then they'll be permanently deleted. Thank you!

4.2 uses a delayed delete. Yiu can see deleted files on Mod CP. They will be permanently deeted after 30 days (default setting), that’s when those files will be removed from your server.
