New site build - REST API problems

I am having an issue with implementing the REST API. When we try to implement it, we keep getting banned from the site. 

We have tried setting up and configuring the REST API but we recieve the attached error screen.

What do you mean 'banned' from the site? As in, a firewall blocking you? If so then you would need to address that at the firewall level.

If you just mean you keep getting the error shown, have you followed the instructions and uploaded the .htaccess file to your site's folder? Is .htaccess allowed (e.g. is this Apache with AllowOverrides enabled)? Or is this nginx or an environment where .htaccess just aren't supported?

Every time I submit the button for the API, we get banned from the community and we have to delete this filter.

Your IP is getting banned because it is making invalid requests. I would encourage you to submit a ticket.
