Regex parameters for only certain forum categories?

I was wondering if there is any way to control the language and characters used in specific forums/sub categories/etc inside my community. I have a few languages available for particular discussions, but I want to disable those chars being used outside of those language areas. Is there any plugin or code hack I can use? Just seeing if anyone has had and solved a similar problem, cheers!
