Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
JohnCourt Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 I have run into this issue for some time now and it's starting to become somewhat of a pain in the rear. Please read this scenario. I have one attachment image from a sponsor of our site. I use that same attachment image for many promos throughout our forums. I use "Insert other media" - "Insert existing attachment" to speed things up during topic creation. And I insert the same sponsor graphic throughout. The problem is, if I create a topic, and insert existing attachment, save topic, then shortly or anytime thereafter realize I want to replace that graphic, the only way to remove it from that topic is to delete it, and unfortunately it deletes it everywhere else it has been used as well. Is there not a way to remove an existing attachment from a topic, or anywhere for that matter, without deleting it everywhere else its been used? Thanks folks!
JohnCourt Posted February 8, 2018 Author Posted February 8, 2018 Perhaps a "Remove Attachment" setting in addition to the trash can icon? Or, an icon next to the trash can that symbolizes "Recycle". It would sure be nice to remove an attachment without deleting it from the server, or having that option anyway, thanks!
Mark Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 That isn't how it's supposed to work - the file should only be deleted if you remove it from every post it's used in. If you submit a support ticket we can have a look and see if we can figure out what's happening there.
