Custom Field Question

I've created a custom field where people can input a string of characters using this:

<strong>{TEST}:</strong>  {content}

Here's how it appears - how can I get the word "TEST" to appear without the brackets around it?

Remove the brackets from around the word text....

 

<strong>test</strong>
