Changing default group where newly registered members go?

Is it possible to change the group where newly registered members go once they register? Can't really find this setting.

I think you still have to do it by setting '$INFO['member_group'] = 3' or 'member_group' => 3 (depending on the file format), in the conf_global.php file.
