Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
MikeHolly Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 I note on IPS4 when a username is clicked by a Guest, the profiles are public. Is there a way to ensure when a name is clicked the Guest is not given permission to view member profile? The member name via the 'Who's Online' feature. Thank you.
The Old Man Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Hi, It took me 20 minutes before I finally found this obscure setting! It's not available by the Admin search box in 4.x, but if you go to System > Applications then open the System section, you will see Profiles. Use the padlock icon on the right side and untick the permission for Guests to be able to access the module. That should prevent guests and spider/search bots from viewing Member Profiles, assuming you don't have a seperate Search Bots member group. If you do, repeat the same for that second Group if you need to. Hope this helps.
MikeHolly Posted March 5, 2017 Author Posted March 5, 2017 That's exactly what I was trying to achieve, thanks so much, it worked perfectly...!
The Old Man Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Awesome, you're very welcome. Glad I could help for a change!
