A better way to track a Member's specific downloads?

So far as I can tell, the only way to get a record of the specific files a Member has downloaded on your site is to click their IP address.

This, however, is not a perfect solution - especially if your Members log on to your site and download with more than one IP address.

Could we add an option to view all of a Member's downloads connected to their account irrespect of what IP they are using at the time?  If such an option exists, I can't find it.
