Custom URL for Blogs

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone was interested in doing a plugin / application to allow users to set custom URLs for blogs (ie, www.example.com/myblogname which points the browser over to www.example.com/blogs/blog/34-myblogname)

Depends on how important this bit is:

"to allow users to set custom URLs" - do you want your users to have control over the creation of the url, or are you (the admin) going to create them for them?

You could add customised friendly urls in (as an admin) for them, and Advanced Path Aliases will also allow you (the admin) to create the urls for them:

Maybe contact the developer of the above to see if there is a way to incorporate this in to a user setting, if you want the users to have the control.

Hi Nathan,

Yeah, i was hoping the users had control over them.  I've contacted the developer and they've suggested it could be rigged up somehow with a bit of programming, i've yet to give it a try though.
