LiquidFractal Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 The way I understand it, when one follows a forum, topic, etc. one can set how these notifications are sent (PM or email, daily, weekly, etc). All well and good, but this seems to apply universally to all followed content, and it occurred to me that for certain forums or topics (e.g., Sales Questions, Site Help/Questions) one might want to be notified in a different (quicker) manner. So what if one could set one of two or three different notification levels so that for example, I could be emailed immediately if someone posted in Help forums or Sales Questions, but received a weekly digest for other lower priority follows?
LiquidFractal Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 I saw that before, but I was under the impression that these follow preferences were applied to all follow content? But you're saying that that setting is specifically for the thread you're following?
Colonel_mortis Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Just now, liquidfractal said: I saw that before, but I was under the impression that these follow preferences were applied to all follow content? LiquidFractal Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 Thanks Colonel. I can see that I can change specific forums to "Immediate notification," but it wasn't so obvious to me (which could just be me of course!). Thinking out loud, though, I guess this makes me wonder if one should be able to specify two kinds of instant notification? If someone posts in "Sales Questions" or "Site help" I would like an email in case I'm away from my desktop or laptop so I can reply via my phone, but with less mission critical stuff a site notification waiting for me might be enough. Just wondering...
