I have contacted the creator to no avail. This mod is rather essential to the forum I am trying to create, however I lack the technical knowhow that would make it possible to create it. I would be happy to pay a reasonable amount for the mod should it function as desired. Thanks in advance to anyone who decides to take on the project.

Hi @qpsizzle Last winter my partner and I, @Simon Woods, were lucky enough to work with @Adriano Faria on a character mod. It was a customised (for us) version of another app he has (it's not on the marketplace I think but you can contact him about it). If our adapted version interests you then I am sure he'll sell you a copy, or perhaps his original sub account app will be right for you. He might even adapt his original to your specs for a price. We had the other mod you linked to when we we on 3.4 and Adriano did an upgrade sequence for us, which converted all of the character accounts into sub accounts for the members. It is freakin' awesome! Here's a couple of screenshots of the one at my forum:
