Help customizing CKEditor

Hello IPB Community,

I apologize if this question has been answered elsewhere, but what i've been founding on google haven't helped me much.

I wish to restyle the CKeditor to match my dark theme, but it's very difficult to edit. I've went into the skins files to see if i could modify some of the skins. I even went on their website to add their monoo dark skin, which is totally outdated design wise, and the background is still white..

I also tried the contents.css file (outside the skins folder) which didn't change anything for me..

If i want to edit the colors. What's the best approach for this? What i've found on google haven't helped me :/.
