About This File

This plugin will create a specific rule for the forums you want, so users of specific groups, set by the administrator, must agree before they are able to create topics.

Global Settings:

  • Number of days to expire the cookie
  • Cookie prefix. If you want everybody to agree again to your rules, just change the cookie prefix

Per Forum Settings:

  • Enable the plugin in the forum
  • Message style: option to choose between 4 predefined styles
  • Groups that will be required to agree to the rules
  • Rule Content

The rule content is translatable, which means that you can use a specific message for each language you have installed on your board.

    Hi, css from your plugin breaks default IPS styles: You must adjust padding in this style: I had to add this to my custom.css: to display correctly

  • Sounds good.  Let me know if they fix it.  I can't access the dev forum and the release notes are well - not so informative.

Can this plugin be set per forum? For example, I'd like to create different rules for different topics/forums. Would this be possible?

Hi,

css from your plugin breaks default IPS styles:

You must adjust padding in this style:

  Quote

.ipsMessage {
    padding: 3px 15px 15px 45px;
    border-radius: 2px;
    position: relative;
    margin-bottom: 10px;
}

I had to add this to my custom.css:

  Quote

.ipsMessage{
  padding: 15px 45px !important;
}

to display correctly

"New Topic Rules" extension doesn't work with 4.3.0 and 4.3.1.

System says code error: EX0 when customer try to open new Question in forum (not new Topic). Disable plugin for a now... Waiting for bug fix.

Thanks ?

Looks like IPS is adding <p></p> in the content even when I have 'paste as plain text' selected as the paste behavior.

Update first failed for me ("no permission") until I realized the purchase is bound to the license holders account and not shared between alternate contacts.

Anyways. Update was successful then. Though it seems the rule text has not been converted. The text box is empty.

Not sure if this could be our fault.... maybe you wanna double check if it works as expected. No big loss at least 🙂

Cheers

Werner

Edit: There is an issue when using centered text in a ruleset:

Hey there,

thank you for the quick fix after sorting out the license stuff.

I wonder if it would be possible to

a) copy the rule text as well to other forums and/or

b) copy all settings at once to multiple other forums

The copy icon is missing besides the rule boxes

Could contain: File, Text, Webpage

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Werner

Hi Adriano,

can you check compatibility with 4.7.11? It seemed to have stopped working after the IPS cookie changes.

It’s not possible to go beyond the rules page and actually start a topic.
