Members can't post status updates

It's not allowing my members post status updates, despite all the settings being on for them to do so with no moderator approval needed.

It's odd but each member has to turn the setting on in their profile. Hope this changes.

Even per group? ACP>Members>Groups>Edit each user> Social Tab> bottom of tab, should be 'Status Updates' https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0mBb9QuGv84Mm1CUFdNeTB3S28/view?usp=drivesdk

not sure what's so different between other sites and mine. but my new users have that setting on by default with no modification by me or a 3rd party mod from the marketplace.

Just had a guy sign up today and his is on by default with no modification from end user either.
