Splitting private messages returns an error

Hello,

 

When I split a private message, I get the following error:

 

 

Sorry, there is a problem
Something went wrong. Please try again.

Error code: EX1054 

 

After I get the error, the message disapears from my inbox.

 

The url requested is this:

 

http://www.server.com/foro/messenger/9615/?do=splitComment&comment=9565

 

And it gives an error 500

 

Enabling error_reporting I see the following php error:

 

Call to a member function author() on a non-object in /var/www/arcuma/foro/system/Content/Item.php on line 1490

 

Is this a bug or is this a problem with my installation ?

Can anybody try splitting a message to see if they get the same issue ? 

I'm using version 4.1.7 and seo is enabled.
