GD - sRGB or Retain Profile

I'm hoping I'll be able to change the GD quality to jpeg and things will look better. BUT, IP's GD removes the color profiles. Is there a way to have GD save sRGB or retain the original uploaded color profile. I mean, it appears you can with both GD or Imagemagick but whether or not you can in IP without hacking everywhere might be another question.

Thanks, we are a photography community so some form of color profile is important or else everything looks washed out

I would like an answer to this issue too. It seems that those people using non colour managed browsers are seeing colours that are untrue on uploaded images.
