Recent Status Updates

In 3.4.X the recent status update widgget, would replace the last previous update from a user if it fell within the settings of updates to show (5). In the below screenshot, 4 out of the 5 updates are from one user.

Is this an issue with the status updates and should it be reported as a bug or is this a setting I have overlooked?
