ore Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Hello I did not find how to translate the 2 words:"Wed","May" to my language. The words appear when i am trying to add a new calendar event. Picture is attached. In admin control panel what is the exact phrase to search? Thanks
Meddysong Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Those words (and things like the date format) aren't determined within the ACP, unfortunately. It's the locale that the language pack uses that affects them. If your language pack, for example, is en_US, then the date format is mm/dd/yyyy, whereas en_GB gives dd/mm/yyyy.If you want to use your own language's days etc there, set the locale for the language to the appropriate one. Customization > Languages, click the pencil icon for the relevant language, select the locale.
ore Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 I already selected my locale but still see English...Also when i tried to select a date to a new event i see it in English and can't change also default language for users and guests to my language. It look like bugs in the software.
Meddysong Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Which locale are you using? The text in your menu item looks like Hebrew to me but I can't find a corresponding locale on my own server, so I'm thinking there might not be one on yours, hence the defaulting to English.
ore Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 HelloMy locale is Hebrew.Do i need to ask the company to change the locale to Hebrew/Israel?
Meddysong Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Hello My locale is Hebrew. Do i need to ask the company to change the locale to Hebrew/Israel? If he_IL isn't installed, then that isn't your locale. (In which case, how is it that "I already selected my locale but still see English..."?) Your locale is whatever it says it is, and that's determining the words for days of the weeks. If it's not available currently, then you'll need to ask your host to install it, so that it becomes one of the options in the locale drop-down. (I hope you have better luck with that than I did! Mine installed the locale that I needed but it got removed whenever they did an internal upgrade so they stopped doing it )
ore Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 HelloI meant that i selected Hebrew when i added a new language in Admin CP.I don't know how to change the locale.I sent a ticket to support...
Meddysong Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Hi! I don't know how to change the locale. From the relevant drop-down, when you click on the pencil icon by the language's name. It will show all of the different locales available on your server. Mine has over 300 though, frustratingly, not my language. Nor does it have he_IL, which surprises me. IPS support won't be able to do anything for you, unfortunately, unless you're hosted with them. The locale is a text document stored on your hosting area, so it's whoever you buy your hosting from who will have to help you. I hope yours is more helpful than mine!
ore Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 In the locale drop-down i have Hebrew (its written עברית).I already selected it but its not OK.
Meddysong Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 A-ha. Then you might have narrowed your problem down slightly. It could be that the locale isn't written properly. If you want to, ask your host for a copy of it and send it to me. I'll have a look and see what it contains for the days of the week etc and let you know. It may not contain that information, in which case the site would use English details.
ore Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 Thanks but I am using invision power hosting. They should check and fix it if necessary.
